General Information

How to get administrative rights?

How can I get administrative rights to run and use your software?

In order to use our software in the best way and enjoy all the features you must have the administrative rights/privileges over your domains, workstations and servers of your network.

Our software automatically get the rights of the account associated with the current session.

To get administrative rights you can:
  • Use the software being a member of the "Domain Admins" group. This is the most simple and fast way that we recommend.
  • Another possibility is to be a member of the local "Administrators" group on each machine you want to manage. To do this, create a global group in the domain, for example "Remote-Admin", make your administrators members of this group and make this group a member of the local "Administrators" group of each of the client workstations to be administered.
    In a
"WORKGROUP" environment it is also the solution: you must create an account (same username, same password as your session), member of the local "Administrators" group on each machines of the Workgroup.
  • Use the "Run As" Windows functionality, by right clicking a shortcut or. exe. Then fill in the appropriate administrative account credentials. Since Windows Vista, this feature is no longer present in the menu, and is replaced by "Run as administrator". You can make the "SHIFT key + right click"  combination  to bring up this feature, or download the ShellRunas tool to include this option in the menu: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc300361.
  • To manage multiple domains, the best solution is to establish trust relationships between the different domains. Another possibility is to be a member of the local "Administrators" group on each machine to manage. Or set the same password for the "Administrator" account (member of the "Domain Admins" group) on all your domains.
  • Finally, you can occasionally use the "Connect as" feature by right clicking on a computer, then "Tools on \\ComputerName" and fill in an administrator account.
